It helps to lower stress levels, you become more physically relaxed, in turn you benefit your circulatory system, and increase the amount of oxygen you absorb through breathing. Psychologically, it can help releive anxiety,and depression, it can also lead to a deeper understanding of your self and others, so all in all, it's worth doing.
