Have you ever tried mindfulness, and does it work?

Mindfulness

Question by Pat on "Mindfulness":

I like a lot of answers, so if you haven't tried it just say No.:) Mindfulness is, in a nutshell, concentrating on your feelings NOW without trying to escape from them. For example, if you feel sad or frustrated, you just concentrate on that feeling and examine it non-judgmentally. I have mixed feelings about trying it. (I have borderline personality disorder traits - I get depressed and anxious very easily.) Do you think it could help me? p.s. i also have OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder).

Mindfulness is wonderful! It is a big part of Dialectic behavior therapy which was designed for Borderline Personality disorder but is proving to be useful in many disorders. I use it for Bipolar and it has done wonders. You can get a workbook on DBT at any big bookstore.
