What kind of doctor should my friend see for alternative treatment/natural therapy?

Basically she's had horrible symptoms for the last year and a half, has been to over a dozen doctors, had all sorts of scans and tests done, and they don't know whats wrong. Today I was reading in a magazine at the hair salon about natural remedies to heal "mystery illnesses" and it was an interview with some doctor who specializes in that, but I forgot what kind of doctor that is. Do you know? So I can tell my friend?
