Stress reduction via exercise?
Question by libertino85 on "Stress Reduction": It is almost common knowledge that exercise reduces stress. But how does this work specifically? Do you have to exercise WHEN your stressed out in order for stress to be reduced? In other words, while your exercising, do you need to focus on your stress to work it off. OR does REGULAR exercise help you cope with stress in general as it comes up? Best Answer:

I think it works because you're concentrating on the excercise, rather than on what is making you stressed, and it also gives you time to clear your head. I also believe it releases hormones which help, but I'm not sure which hormone it is. Sorry I can't be of more help.
